Socko brings you a workshop to teach knitters and sewists a technique that can be used to personalise or repair your knitwear.

During this 2.5 hour workshop held in Radical Giving's workshop space, Socko founder Emma will start by explaining what a duplicate stitch is, where it can be used and pass round examples. We'll then get hands on, working on the rhythm of the stitch before applying it to repair dropped stitches.

The main task will be to select a letter and yarn to monogram a swatch of your own. Groups are kept small so you will have plenty of one-to-one time. You will take home the swatches you have worked on, handouts to refer back to and a needle and needle threader.

This technique is the perfect stepping stone between our Beginners' Darning course and the more advanced technique of Swiss darning.

The whole session will be fuelled by the obligatory bottomless tea and biscuits.
